On July 18-19th, I had the amazing opportunity to present the findings of our study: 21st Century Homeland Defense & Civil Defense at the Homeland Defense Institute’s – Homeland Defense Awareness Symposium in Colorado Springs, CO with my Simental Industries Ltd. – SHIELD Initiative Research team: Richard White, John Holst, and Erin Christon!
Thank you to HDI for the opportunity to present. For our study we were honored to receive challenge coins from HDI Director Garver. The symposium was very interesting and provided unique insights into homeland defense issues. One common theme we continued to hear and discussed was the need for resilience. I was truly humbled and honored to present along side so many other amazing folks from unique agencies and organizations from NOAA’s Commissioned Corps to the GMF. It was great to see all the different agencies represented in-person and hear all the different aspects of homeland defense and civil defense that are being developed and examined.
Special Thanks Richard White for leading our team on this study. Also to our Project Manager Natasha Jimenez, PMP.
I also want to give a shout out to Quin Lucie for his inspiring efforts on this subject and article which was integral to our own work. We were honored to finally meet and share our efforts in-person. We look forward to many more collaborations to come!
For those interested we will be working to publish our report in the coming days, stay tuned! It is a definitive work on homeland defense and civil defense.
