Dr. Tina Bynum and I are excited to announce that we have officially been awarded FEMA Region 8’s Climate Adaptation Strategy Identification & Community Outreach Study Grant.
This is an independent academic study to identify climate adaptation strategies, barriers, challenges, and recommendations to effectively communicate preparedness practices and programs to residents of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming and the 29 federally recognized tribal nations within these states. This project further serves to identify climate adaptation community resources and develop communication, outreach and engagement strategies.
In the coming year we will be reaching out to collaborate with institutions and organizations across FEMA Region 8 and will be engaging in community discussions on climate adaptation. We hope to bring together diverse perspectives and voices from individuals, faith-based organizations, for-profit enterprises, state, local and tribal governments and engage many great minds from Region 8’s academic community.
