We are recruiting positions 6 Community Outreach Facilitator Positions to support our study on Climate Change Adaptation for FEMA Region 8.
The purpose of this grant project is to identify climate change adaptation strategies, barriers, challenges, and recommendations to effectively communicate preparedness practices and programs to organizations and residents of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming and the 29 federally recognized tribes within these states. This project further serves to identify climate adaptation community resources and develop communication, outreach and engagement strategies. Targeted populations of this study are state, local and tribal governments and private sector entities including individuals, faith-based organizations, for-profit enterprises, non-profit organizations, Volunteer Organizations Assisting in Disasters (VOADs), and special populations including refugees, immigrants/migrants including those with access and functional needs and disabilities. This project will engage multiple education institutions within FEMA Region 8 and include undergraduate and graduate student researchers from those institutions.
Position Type: Part-time, temporary – 40 hour Consultancy $450 Stipend
We are actively recruiting from across FEMA Region 8 for:
- 6 Community Outreach Facilitators (One in each state in FEMA Region 8 – Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming)
Community Outreach Facilitators will receive financial stipends for their work paid directly to them from Simental Industries Ltd. This is an independent academic study. All activities are conducted independent of affiliated academic institutions. No direct payments will be made to academic institutions/no indirect costs are authorized.
Additionally, we are also welcoming any academic institution affiliated faculty members who’d like to support this project on on a voluntary basis. Volunteers will receive credit for their work and be listed on any subsequent publications or materials as part of the Climate Change Adaptation Research Project Workgroup.
Project Position Description:
Community Outreach Facilitators Liaises as a community subject matter expert within their states’ and connects researchers with potential study participants. Facilitators strictly support state recruitment efforts and do not engage in other study activities such as facilitating interviews or data collection.
