On March 20th the Simental Industries Ltd. – SHIELD Initiative research team: Founder Mr. Simental, Dr. Tina (Markowski) Bynum, Sinan Khan, Soumanetra Ghosh, Erin Christon, Jessica Christon, and Sarah Lillie presented our work on the FEMA Region 8 Climate Adaptation and Community Outreach Study Grant to the FEMA Region 8 Administrator, Deputy Administrator and Leadership team at FEMA Region 8 Headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado.

This was an exciting opportunity to showcase our hard work culminating 15 months of research and extensive outreach across Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Montana including the tribal nations across FEMA Region 8 and many other populations.

I am also excited to announce that we will be further presenting our findings at the upcoming 25th Annual FEMA Emergency Management Higher Education Symposium, June 5-7, 2023, at the National Emergency Training Center (NETC) in Emmitsburg, MD and hope to see you there!
