Simental Industries Ltd. Founder Mr. Arthur Simental, Dr. Tina Bynum and Lorin Schroeder are proud to have supported and provided leadership for the Space Foundation’s – Fire Safe & Lock-down operational exercise series. Mr. Simental served as the Exercise Director, Dr. Bynum as the Lead Planner and Exercise Facilitator, supported by Lorin Schroeder – Security & Exercise Planning.
This was the first ever, operational-based emergency preparedness exercise series by the Space Foundation.
This exercise included participation from the Space Foundation’s Executive Leadership team CEO Tom Zelibor RADM U.S. Navy Ret., COO Shelli Brunswick, and under the guidance and direction of Rob Henderson – Vice President of Operations, and Rich Cooper – Vice President of Strategic Communications and Outreach.
Thank you for the continued support from our key public safety agency partners and representatives including: the Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Colorado’s South Central All-Hazards Homeland Security Region (SCR), Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management (PPOEM) and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). This exercise series was funded by the Department of Homeland Security, Nonprofit Security Grant Program 2021. Lastly, special thanks to the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management’s Grants Team (CO-DHSEM) who continue to support and provide technical assistance & guidance to the Space Foundation’s efforts.

Now that this exercise series has concluded we are excited to continue our support and partnership to enhance emergency preparedness and public safety efforts with the Space Foundation. We look forward to engaging with the Space Foundation and agency partners working on various activities preparing for the upcoming 38th Space Symposium.
